horsing around

It amazes me how much these horses wanted give these boots a good sniff.

This has to be my second favorite. My husband thinks I should take Bonnie and Clyde back and put both of them in the hay. :)

The orchard

This is the orchard right next to the rock barn. I had fun trudging through the high grass, and not knowing if I was going to step on a cow patty. :)

The beautiful lilac tree between the orchard and the barn.

Okay, this one didn't turn out like I had hoped. I really wanted it to look like he was just relaxing by the tree. But it really just looks like The Invisible Man was passed out.

This one turned out a lot better.

The Old Rock Barn

My former employer and now friend, I hope, owns this very cool old rock barn, with an arena and an apple orchard. I went over there one day with just Clyde, but I think I will have to make another trip very soon with both Clyde and Bonnie.

This is the old rock barn.

These stairs lead up to the top of the rock barn.

This is Rocky, checking out Clyde.

rail roaded

You wouldn't believe the strange looks I got from people as they drove by while I was trying to take pictures on the railroad tracks. :)

creek or crick

I found this great little creek, going through a small park area and thought it would be interesting to see if I could get it to feel like the boots were going to cross this stream.

more memorial day

These were also taken at the cemetery on Memorial Day. It was a drizzling a little bit, so I put in the umbrella to see if using props would work.

I think this first one is the better of the two.

favorite

This was taken on Memorial Day this year. It is by far, one of my favorites of Clyde.

Grillin' time

These are some of the first images of Clyde that I took, I was still playing around with perspective, i.e. did I want to see the whole boot, or make it look like someone was still in them. The main purpose is to make them look alive, in their own way.

The story

Well, it started like this: I had a dream. Nothing too special really, just one about cowboy boots, and how interesting it would be to photograph them in different scenarios. So, I went to the local D.I. and I bought a pair of used women's boots. Then I also got a pair of men's boots from my husband's Grandpa. I decided that I should probably give them a name, so they are:

Bonnie

Clyde

Now, unfortunately for Bonnie, she just isn't as photogenic at Clyde, so most of my photos that I will be posting will be of him.

Please, feel free to leave comments or constructive criticism. I just have one rule: KEEP IT CLEAN!
